Come to Gillespie
House Inn on the Bay of Fundy in picturesque Parrsboro, Nova
Scotia to discover miles of hiking trails, deserted beaches,
soaring sea cliffs and spectacular scenery. Hike along the
cliffs at Cape Chignecto, bike the quiet roads, visit the
area museums, watch the sunset at Cape D'Or Lighthouse or
play the scenic Parrsboro Golf Course.
After the day's activity, relax in the comfort of the
historic 4 star Gillespie House Inn. Built in 1890 for local
lumberman and merchant David Huntley, our Victorian
farmhouse is a mixture of architectural styles. The tower,
barge board trim and finials in the gable peaks are Queen
Anne style, while the projecting bays and bracketed eaves
are Italianate.
Located on a spacious two and one-half acres of shady
maples, fragrant roses and colourful flower gardens, our Inn
is conveniently close to the town centre, yet a world apart.
Enjoy the sun on the expansive front lawn, snooze in the
shade of the century old maples or relax in the comfort of
the Victorian Veranda.
The Gillespie House Inn offers seven spacious, graciously
appointed guest rooms, each with private bath. Antique
furniture, hardwood floors, down duvets and comfortable beds
await. Five fireplaces add to the warmth and ambiance. Our
comfortable library is the perfect place for planning your
next day's activities, chatting with other guests, catching
up on the news or relaxing by the fire.
A hearty breakfast is served daily. The menu features a
daily cooked selection, fresh fruit, cereals and yogurt,
home made muffins, whole grain breads and bagels, complete
with a bottomless cup of fresh brewed coffee or tea.
